COACHES
Edgardo Gonzalez
Edgardo was born and raised in Laredo, TX and has been a running coach in South Texas since 1998. He has worked with children and adults to help them achieve their running goals. He constantly states "If you have absolutely no experience when it comes to running then I want to work with you. Helping someone cross the finish line of a race or helping them break through the dreaded “wall” never gets old." Capturing that experience has been important in his life and sharing that with others has been and will continue to be his lifetime goal. In 2006 Edgardo chose to go back to school and became eligible to compete collegiately for the University of Incarnate Word in San Antonio, TX. There he studied for his double major in Cultural Studies and Religious Studies. In 2006 he set personal records of 4:12 in the 1500m and 16:08 in the 5000m. Later that year, he was voted to the All Heartland Conference team for his top 10 showing (5 miles in 27:37) at the conference championship in Billings, MT. Over the years Edgardo has completed several marathons and half marathons and qualified for Boston Marathon. Recently, he was bitten by the "Ultra" bug and has now completed races of 30 miles or more including a top 60 finish at the Sunmart Texas Trail 50 mile race in December 2007. "It is my goal to be a catalyst in creating a running community in San Antonio that promotes a healthier course for South Texas. As a member of WRSA you will be given the tools and resources to help shape the world where you live and run." - Edgardo Gonzalez CONTACT FOR COACHING SERVICES AND SEMINARS: This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it

Greg Coplen Greg Coplen was born and raised in Hereford, TX where he grew up a competitive tennis player. He went to school on a tennis scholarship, but a badly broken hand ended his competitive days on the tennis courts.
